Born in Seoul, Korea, Miyoun (Mimi) Leone received her BFA in Fine Art from Seoul National University before moving to the United States. After earning an MBA from George Washington University, she embarked on a successful career in aviation technology, working in engineering and management. Though her passion for painting was set aside for nearly 30 years to focus on raising her family, it never left her. Ten years ago, she returned to the canvas—and during the COVID-19 pandemic, she retired early to fully dedicate herself to her lifelong love of art.
Her work explores the parallels between human growth and the natural world—both constantly evolving, seeking peace, harmony, and authenticity. Drawing from both Asian and Western art traditions, she blends the serene beauty of simplicity with the boldness of diverse expression. Her paintings reflect a fascination with the mysteries of life, subconscious desires, and our individual and collective search for purpose.
Through vibrant colors and emotional depth, she aims to inspire joy, self-reflection, and a sense of hope—encouraging viewers to connect with their inner truth and embrace a better version of themselves.
Her art has been exhibited at the MITRE Corporation Gallery (2018), Suppoment Gallery in Seoul, Korea (2023), Rookery Bay Art Gallery (2024), Coco Art Galleries in Naples and Estero (2023–2024), Naples Botanical Garden Gallery (2025), and Art Ovation Hotel in Sarasota (November 2025 - May 2026).
